Thank You Dr. Phillip Smith

Providing Gallatin exceptional dental care for 45 years

Dear Patients,

This summer marks 45 years practicing dentistry in Gallatin. I have been searching for the last few years for someone to work with to continue the same level of care that my staff and I have provided for you. I will be continuing to practice for the next few years, and I will be working with Dr. Zach Fields. Dr. Fields has done some dental work for me recently and I can attest to his gentle touch and great skill. I feel that his personality and mine are very similar. Dr. Fields is a 2016 graduate of the University of Tennessee and he’s completed an advanced General Dentistry residency at Foundry Dental Center. Dr. Fields lives in Gallatin and he performs a wide range of general dentistry services, including implant placement, restoration and oral surgery.

Dr. Fields has purchased our practice and the name will be Fields Family Dentistry. I am sure he will want to make some changes to personalize the website and sign, but one thing that will not change is our commitment to caring for your family like we would our family.

My staff and I look forward to working with Dr. Fields and providing a friendly, caring environment for you and your family. We all hope that you will exhibit the same trust in Dr. Fields that you have shared with us.

Sincerely, Dr. Phillip Smith

Implant supported dentures

Are you tired of wearing dentures that slip around in your mouth and make it difficult to chew or speak? Or are your teeth so broken-down that they need to be replaced?

Dr. Fields can replace your whole smile with one that is natural-looking, aesthetic and as close to fully functional as possible. Your new fixed-in teeth will look and feel totally natural, won't slip or irritate your gums and will allow you to eat all the foods you need and want.

And the procedure is minimally invasive as the dental implants are strategically placed to take maximum advantage of available bone, the need for bone grafting is eliminated for most patients.

Tooth Extraction

Wisdom tooth removal and oral surgery services

Normally appearing in late teenage years or early twenties, your third molars or “wisdom teeth” are commonly removed due to several issues that may arise including crowding, being impacted, and gum tissue-related problems.

Dr. Fields performs tooth extractions in-office. If you or a family member is experiencing tooth pain, has a cracked or broken tooth, or may need an extraction give us a call for a consultation.

Bone Grafting

Repair the damage caused by periodontal disease

Bone grafting, or transplanting of bone tissue, is beneficial in fixing bone that has receded due to aging or diminished due to periodontal disease. Bone grafting is a common procedure to restore your bone structure. Dr. Fields wants you to know how bone grafting can help you.

Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic Bonding Learn More

Composite resin is a white, tooth colored material that can be shaded to match your teeth. This material can give you a low-cost improvement in your smile.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers Learn More

Veneers are very thin porcelain pieces that are custom made to adhere directly to the front of teeth without grinding or shaving. Transform your smile without drilling on your natural teeth!

In the hands of a highly skilled dentist, porcelain laminates can provide you with an incredibly natural, beautiful smile. They are virtually undetectable and can dramatically improve your appearance. They are durable and long-lasting when compared to other cosmetic treatments.

Smile Whitening

Smile Whitening Learn More

Many everyday things like coffee, tea and wine can significantly dull teeth. Smile-whitening enables us to significantly brighten your smile for that dazzling white smile you deserve.

Plastic whitening trays will be made from models of your teeth. You will then place a special whitening gel in each tray and wear the trays in your mouth for several hours per day. (Many patients wear their trays after dinner and before bed.) A significant change in tooth color is usually seen in just four to six weeks.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns & Bridges Learn More

Protect and keep badly decayed or fractured teeth while maintaining a beautiful smile. Made to perfectly match the shape and shade of your other teeth, they’re durable, strong, and undetectable.

Crowns should be placed before the tooth is so decayed that it may fracture. This can often help prevent the expense of root canal therapy in the future. If a tooth is too damaged to have a crown applied, a porcelain bridge may be a good alternative.

Implant Restoration

Implant Restoration Learn More

Dental implants are a great option for replacing missing teeth, improving chewing ability, eliminating bridges, and replacing dentures.

Several implants may provide a base for a series of artificial teeth known as a fixed bridge. Implants can even be used to secure a full set of removable dentures for people who have no remaining natural teeth. Dr. Fields is skilled at restoring dental implants.

Mercury-Free

Mercury-Free Learn More

The common silver filling contains mercury. Dr. Fields uses the highest-quality biocompatible, tooth-colored restorations to create healthy, beautiful smiles. Since the composite material adheres directly to the tooth enamel, less preparation of the tooth is required before using it. This means it is more durable and provides a more natural-looking result.

Dentures

Dentures Learn More

A well made denture is not only comfortable and functions properly; it also allows the wearer to smile with confidence, knowing that their smile is no different than it would be with natural teeth. Creating a cosmetic denture is really an art in the hands of a skilled dentist like Dr. Fields.

Mouth Guards

Mouth Guards Learn More

Any active athlete can benefit from wearing a mouthguard. With nearly half of all dental injuries coming from athletic activity, isn’t it time to protect your smile? Today’s mouthguards are comfortable and help reduce the severity of other injuries like concussions too.

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays Learn More

Our use of digital x-ray technology reduces your radiation exposure and eliminates the use of chemicals. It’s better for you and the environment.

It's also easy for you to see what the doctor sees. Your digital x-ray can be seen on a computer screen located next to your dental chair. This helps you understand your needs and make informed choices about your treatment.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral Cameras Learn More

Our use of intraoral camera technology allows patients to see what we see in real-time, and allows for greater accuracy during your treatment.
